ALRA Chapters
The Alabama Republican Assembly is a grassroots conservative organization operating as the official state affiliate of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies. It positions itself as the “conscience of the Republican Party” in Alabama, drawing from Ronald Reagan’s description of Republican Assemblies as the dedicated grassroots force that turns conservative principles into electoral success.
The group seeks to reclaim, reform, and restore the Alabama Republican Party to its core conservative roots, particularly the values and principles associated with the Reagan era. It emphasizes adherence to the official ALGOP platform, which includes commitments to limited government, lower taxes, free-market capitalism, strong national defense, the right to life, traditional family values, individual liberty, American exceptionalism, and a constitutional republic.
Key efforts and activities in Alabama include:
Supporting and vetting “true” Republican candidates who fully align with conservative principles, especially during primaries, to promote more ideologically consistent representation.
Holding elected officials accountable for upholding conservative policies and criticizing perceived inaction or deviation from the platform.
Influencing politics at state, county, and municipal levels through advocacy, candidate endorsements, meetings, and organizing with concerned citizens.
